GIS Applications in Reservoirs Management – Case Study, Somesul Cald Reservoir

ABSTRACT. – GIS Applications in Reservoirs Management – Case Study, Somesul Cald Reservoir. The use of new tehnology in reservoirs and other genetics cathegories of lakes studies and management, becomes an usual practice among the specialists from this field. The conjunct adhibition of the GPS equipment and the Echosounder in the effectuation of the measurements and the GIS technique in the remaking of the date, lead to some distinct performances in a very short time comparing to the classic labour methods . The most part of incidents regarding the activities of the reservoirs (the daily balance-sheet of the water, the periodic revaluation capacities, the study of the phenomenon of colmatage, the monitoring of others risk phenomena and process etc.) necessitates the realization of some detailed data processing: maps in bathymetric contours of high resolution and expressiveness, models of plan and tridimensional laccustric basins, profiles in the zones of maximum dynamic of the submersible bed and versants, the pursuit of the temporally evolution of the morphometrical elements etc.
